The Cardinal Newman Dramatic Arts program is a small but excellent department focused on preparing students interested in the production of theatre. Students will explore skills and concepts required for theatre production that will include Theater History, Costumes, Set Construction, Lighting and Improvisation. Students will form a production company in which they will participate as an actor and/or as a crew member. They will experience acting and production roles through a collaborative process that involves active application of learning. The course culminates in a public performance in both the Fall and Spring. The Cardinal Newman Dramatic Arts Department generally will present one straight show and one musical each school year. In addition the department performs a Improv show during the spring semester.
