Summer Service Hours 2020:

Hi Cardinal Newman Students,

HAPPY SUMMER!!! You did it! As it has been said many times, we are so proud of you and how you have persevered through difficult circumstances to finish out the school year.

I wanted to let you know that the same guidelines for service will apply during this summer. All hours of service done at home, for your grandparents, neighbors, etc. will be accepted until further notice. That being said, as our community begins to open up and the Shelter in Place is lifted, if you and your parents feel it is safe, you can volunteer as you feel comfortable. Examples of service may include outdoor environment clean ups, food deliveries to the elderly or sick, food donations, cards for the retirement homes, and homeless and any other social distancing opportunities that directly help those in need. Spend some time searching out service needs in our community and seek the advice and approval from your family if you decide to volunteer in the community. Please follow all proper safety protocols. Be sure to log them into x2VOL. Students will be able to receive credit for a maximum number of 15 hours of service during summer. If you are an incoming students and do not yet have access to our online service hour tacking system (x2vol) please keep track of hour served and in August the CBSL office will assist you in posting these summer service hours into our x2vol system.

I pray for you and your families to have a safe and restful summer!

God Bless,

Mrs. Rubattino, Service Coordinator
