Bridge Builders in Engineering! Students in engineering have been working on designing and building popsicle stick bridges that meet certain parameters. This week the project came to completion as we had staff from our office come in to judge the aesthetics of their bridge designs. Students were able to talk about their bridge and why they designed them the way they did. Our judges, (Mrs. Browning, Mrs.Corriveau, Mrs. Holland, Mrs. Derr and Mrs. Badger) determined the "aesthetic" winner in each class. Winners of 4th period were, Kate Wheadon ('23), Lilybell Baxes ('24) and Ava Freeman ('23), in 7th period, winners were, Jake Fravel ('23) and Mauel Lefort ('23). In the photo, Anthony Velladao ('23) and Hunter Mueller ('23) share their bridge with Kathy Badger, Kathy Browning and Wendy Holland. |

Fun in the Fall Was Such a Great Time! We're currently working on a photo gallery to share -- in the meantime, Thank You, for coming out for an evening of fellowship. We believe these social opportunities are essential to our learning community. When parents get together around their child's school, it sends a powerful message on the importance of an education -- and community! Thank you wineries, breweries, Canevari's, Costeaux's, the many volunteers, and our Advancement team of Terri Derr and Kathy Badger. We can't wait for our next time to get together! |
| Even Our Trees Measure Up! In AP Environmental Science class, students investigated the trees on campus using scientific methods to calculate the carbon sequestration potential. We learned this week about how trees can be useful in combating climate change, however it can take 10 - 20 years for a tree to become net carbon zero, meaning the tree produces as much carbon as it takes in. In the photo above, Lucas Warnell ('23), with his teammates, Will Bonzi ('23), Joey Pezzolo ('23) and Evan Sandoval ('23) are measuring the tree at DBH (diameter at breast height), this is the same way a forester would measure a tree. |
