Join us on Sunday, October 9 As a community, we're coming up on an important milestone this year -- the fifth anniversary of the Tubbs Fire. We've joined with St. Rose Catholic School to invite our communities to Gather with Gratitude this October 9th. Through faith, togetherness, and generosity we have made a significant recovery and wish to acknowledge our blessings and thank all who contributed to our restoration. - Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Cardinal Newman Gym
- 10 AM: Mass in the Gym (Father Brown)
- 11 AM: Dedication of St. Angela Merici Statue
- 11:30 AM: BBQ Lunch
- Both schools will be open for tours
The Marian Sisters have given us their statue of St. Angela Merici to commemorate the event. St. Angela will be placed in the median of our shared entry way to greet our visitors. St. Angela is a patron saint of both schools and founder of the Order of Ursulines from 1535. Her charism, SERVIAM, encapsulates the teachings of both schools and the way in which the community responded to our needs. Register here. |
Strategic Vision Update Our work continues on our strategic vision! As you recall, we divided our operations into domains, had domain chairs conduct research and provide a narrative of their findings, and coalesced those narratives into a Steering Report. The Steering Report was shared with 60 stakeholders representing a cross-section of our community. Following the review of the Report, they completed one survey to identify the top 25 issues per domain. Then, they took a second survey to narrow the list to the top 3 to 5 issues per domain. Our next step is to attend a retreat to discuss these issues and formulate them into a strategic plan that we will then share with the entire community. Don't worry about drastic changes in directions -- that's not the point or goal of this effort. The goal is to recognize that changes are happening in education and we want to ensure Cardinal Newman continues to lead the way in providing quality instruction, student life, and faith formation. Join us in thanking the many contributors to this effort -- teachers, staff, parents, alumni, the Board of Trustees, Partners in Mission, benefactors, and clergy. The collective input intends to yield a plan with broad understanding and support that the entire community can embrace. |
