Welcome New Cardinals! Last night, rising freshmen and their families joined us for the Can't Wait 'til Next Year dinner! Around 400 family and faculty members came together to celebrate 160 incoming students from 38 area middle schools – we are delighted and honored to welcome next year's incoming class. Shout out to Senior Class leaders Maguire Hansel and Ricky Waite for speaking to the group, and next year's ASB leaders for assisting with check-in! |

Managed by the incredibly talented Morris Acevedo, these musicians are ready to tour! |
Senior Prayer Service The 2021-22 school year remained challenging due to the ongoing pandemic. However, when restrictions eased in the second half of the year we were able to return to many essential moments of togetherness that make Cardinal Newman such a unique learning environment. Once such event was our Senior Prayer Service. It is very gratifying to have our faculty share their memories of the Senior class and join in the fellowship of prayer. This service was made all the more special by the memories and appreciation shared in honor of Matt "Vuk" Vukicevich, who is retiring. As students chanted "Vuk" the bond between our faculty and students could not have been any clearer. Thank you Seniors, families, and faculty and staff for making this journey together and at Cardinal Newman. Continued blessings! |

| "In Fatima's cove on the thirteenth of May; the Virgin Maria appeared at midday." These words, the first verse of a delightful Fatima hymn, bring us hope today. In a world that is broken in many ways, we must remember that our heavenly mother is not far from us. Even as Mary appeared to the shepherd children of Portugal in 1917, so she will console us if we turn to her in our current hour of need. In fact, the American Bishops are inviting us to do just that on today's feast, to fast and to pray the Rosary for five specific intentions related to the culture of life. Please join me in participating in this spiritual campaign. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us! -- Rev. John M. Plass |
Strategic Planning Update In 2019, the Cardinal Newman Board of Trustees advocated for developing a Strategic Plan to help guide the growth of Cardinal Newman High School over the next five to ten years. As a result, Cardinal Newman stakeholders hired Partners in Mission, a national non-profit resource for strategic planning focused on Catholic education. They are guiding us through a proven, inclusive, and collaborative process. So far, we've developed a Book of Knowledge comprised of information across all "domains" of our school. And, we've completed surveys of parents, faculty and staff, and students. Over the summer, our work continues and eventually culminates in the publishing of our Strategic Plan -- developed with collaborative input from all stakeholders -- to serve as a navigational tool for leading Cardinal Newman into our next decade. |
