MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL REYNOLDS
Happy Friday, Cardinal Newman High School!
On Monday, the 16th, Cardinal Newman High School will pause to recognize Martin Luther King Jr. MLK Jr. is recognized as a great leader of the Civil Rights Movement (I Have A Dream Speech). MLK Jr. also loved and promoted education, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education." His words inspire us to do better, to be better, and to celebrate education.
Our schedule for next week is: B-Day, C-Day, D-Day, E-Day.
Please remember that math peer tutoring is available on Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:45 am in room 14. While organized by Dr. Berry and Mr. Escamilla, tutoring is led by a dedicated group of students who love math and want to help others find success.
Most excitingly, our Theology Department is busy planning Senior Retreat, which begins on Sunday, the 22nd, and ends on Tuesday, the 24th of January. Themed, "Go Make a Difference," this retreat will focus on building connections between classmates and navigating the often scary and unknown milestone of leaving high school, being grateful for the "rocks" in our lives, and what it will be like to step foot into the adult world. Truly, an amazing opportunity for our Seniors.
With a three-day weekend upon us, I pray for your health and safety while Sonoma County grapples with power outages and flooding. If your student's ability to access their education is being impacted by these storms please remain in communication with your student's counselor and Ms. Lane in the Front Office.
With blessings,
Nicholas
PS - Roll Niners! I can't wait to Purdy after the Niner's defeat the Seahawks.
