Welcome to Cardinal Newman!  Below you will find instructions on how to set up your student's CN email address:

• Start at Google.com
• Click on the waffle menu in the top right hand corner, which opens a window of Google apps (see image).
• Select GMail with the multi-colored M icon.  This opens a window that asks for an email address (see image).
• Enter your new Cardinal Newman email address following the formula below:

Setting up your Student Email Account:

Initial letter of first name + last name + last two digits of graduation year followed by @cardinalnewman.org

For example: John Newman, 9th grade = jnewman28@cardinalnewman.org

• Click "Next," and enter your temporary password: cn12345678
• Click "Next," and create a new unique password following the requirements
• Make a note of your password, then click "Next"

Your Cardinal Newman student email is now active!

Once activated, use your new student email to login to your Blackbaud account.

Here are some quick reminders on how to better connect with our new Student Information System:

• Where do I find my Student's ID? After you have logged in, click on your student's name/contact card/general information.  Their student ID can be found here.
• Review the Resources Tab. Once logged on to cardinalnewman.myschoolapp.com, you will find:
  • Access to your Tuition Management Account
  • Links to purchase CN polos and logo wear
  • Links to the Summer Reading Assignments
  • Links to a variety of resources for CN Students and Parents

Lunch at Cardinal Newman is served in the Cardinal Cafe, located inside our Student Life Center. Students have several options to choose from each day, including a build-your-own salad bar, grab-and-go options, and fresh, seasonal, and organic meal selections.

Paying for School Meals with MySchoolBucks

Be sure to add funds to your student's MySchoolBucks account before the start of the school year - these funds are used when students purchase meals, snacks, or coffee (cash is not accepted). 

Students purchase food through their account on MySchoolBucks, a secure platform that allows parents to add funds to a student's account online. Students enter a PIN number at the cafeteria to make purchases from their accounts.

New families:  Click here for instructions on how to set up your MySchoolBucks account.  You will need your students' Student ID number from Blackbaud to complete the set up.

Emergency Text Alerts

Cardinal Newman High School uses the platform BrightArrow to send SMS-based text alerts for urgent communications related to student safety, such as school closures or emergency evacuations.  To receive these alerts, it is essential that you OPT-IN - the system will be used for crucial information parents and guardians need to know.  It will not be used for event reminders or other school business.  Ensuring your cell phone number is correct in Blackbaud is equally important. 

For new families: In the Fall, you will receive a text message from us from a 10-digit phone number, in the pattern (424) ###-####.  After the first message, you will also receive an additional text asking you to OPT-IN to receive text messages. It is important that you reply YES to that text message. If you do not reply, you will not receive emergency alerts.  You can sign up for text alerts without waiting for the opt-in message by texting YES to 87569.
