Alumni
Be A Part of It!
The Cardinal Newman Alumni Association is made up of alumni from both Cardinal Newman and Ursuline High Schools who wish to give back to their alma mater. Members of the Alumni Association attend and volunteer at many school-related social events including Cardinal Newman's Homecoming, Fun in the Fall Wine Tasting & Polenta Feed, Ursuline Crab Feed, Spring Legacy Gala, and the Alumni Golf Tournament.
This committee has established the Alumni Legacy Scholarship Endowment Fund making it possible for children and grandchildren of Cardinal Newman alumni the chance to continue the legacy of a Cardinal Newman education.

Annual Fund - Alumni Appeal
Whether you are a graduate from 1968 or 2019, there is something special about being a “Newman Grad”. We would like to invite you to join in supporting the education of today’s Newman students with a gift to the Annual Fund - Alumni Appeal.
Tuition covers the basics of a quality high school education. In order for Cardinal Newman to further advance in academics, arts, athletics, and provide tuition assistance, we must partner with our alumni in raising additional funds that will in return, advance and transform the many young women and men who can call themselves Cardinals.
For over 50 years, our alumni contributions have assured the very best resources for our students and for those who will follow in their footsteps. In most recent years, our alumni have supported us with gifts totaling over $200,000 annually. Alumni giving has helped support many campus improvements over the years including our new Athletic Convocation Center, all-weather track, tennis courts, women’s locker room, field house & our new science building which is planned to open next year. The Annual Fund - Alumni Appeal Program is a financial foundation to the school’s continuing growth and helps us deliver our promise to educate our students into persons of faith, intellect and integrity. Your gifts further support tuition assistance, inspiring others to give and allowing for a vibrant future for every Cardinal Newman student. We encourage you and all our alums to Be A Part of IT!
Make a Gift Today! Thank You!

Message from our Alumni Association President:
Thank you for considering a gift to support the good work at your alma mater. Giving back to our community that has given so much to us is one way to show your Newman spirit! Another is to join us at our Alumni Association Committee (AAC) monthly meetings on campus. Contact the school! We would love for you to BE A PART OF IT!

Jeff Bertoli, '77
Jeff graduated from St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA in '81 with a BS degree in Business Administration and Management. After graduation he moved back to Santa Rosa, CA. where he worked as a stock broker for First Jersey Securities, a loan officer for Crocker Bank (now Wells Fargo) and has held several positions within Agilent Technologies (formerly Hewlett Packard) where he has worked for 25 years. He currently is a Commodity Manager supporting worldwide software procurement activities. Jeff has been married to Julie and they have a daughter Adriana and a son Lucas. When he is not on the sidelines of one of his children's sports events (dominated by soccer, football and track), he is thoroughly wrapped up in making wine. Jeff has been an amateur winemaker since '98 and his goal is to be selling his wine commercially to all of his fellow Alum's (and many others!!) some day. In addition to his focus on family, work and wine he supports CN via his participation on the Alumni Association Committee, The Cardinal Newman Board of Directors, and coaching Newman's freshmen baseball team.
Bill Rousseau, '75
After graduating from Cardinal Newman in 1975, I attended SRJC where I obtained an Associated Arts Degree. After 20 some years of living in Santa Rosa, I left the area to attend California State University Sacramento, were I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration - concentrated in Finance. While living in Sacramento, I meet my wife Joan. We met on a ski trip offered by the Sac State Ski Club. It included a 26-hour bus trip to Aspen, Colorado. Wow, what a bus ride! In the early 1980's, I returned to Santa Rosa and started working for Merrill Lynch Realty. After two educating years in real estate, home mortgage rates were in the 15% range, I started my existing career in the Sonoma County Assessor's Office. Over the years, I have worked my way up the ranks in the office, holding six different positions. I'm currently the Chief Deputy Assessor. I'm responsible for all of the offices operations, which includes the assessment of all taxable real and personal property in Sonoma County. Yes, I'm the property taxman! My son, Kyle, is also Newman Alumni, Class of 2005, and my daughter, Michelle, is an Ursuline Alumni. One of the main motivations for joining the Alumni Association is because of the example set by my father, Ed Rousseau. He, like so many of the dad's from the early 1970's, was committed to helping Cardinal Newman in any capacity he could. Besides being on the Alumni board, I'm also an active member in the Santa Rosa Rotary Club, where I serve as the High School Interact and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Chairperson. I'm also the current advisor for Cardinal Newman & Ursuline Interact Service Club. Since 2008, I have been assisting coach Steve Cavalin with the freshman basketball team at Cardinal Newman.
Thank you to the CNHS Alumni Association for the gift of fencing to improve the Cardinal Newman campus.
