2007 Youth Volunteer of the Year.

Congratulations, Ryan Rabellino, CN '07

Mr. John Contreras, the Community Based Service Learning (CBSL) Coordinator at Cardinal Newman High School describes Ryan Rabellino as, "kind, honest, trustworthy, compassionate, faithful and modest."  Over the last three an a half years Ryan has been involved in volunteering at school and around the community.  For the last two years he has spend many hours working in support group and craft activities with The Children's Cancer Foundation with youth who suffer from cancer.  This year, his senior year at Cardinal Newman, he has committed 10 to 15 hours a month to the foundation and was recently invited to serve on the foundation's board of directors.

Last year Ryan put together a plan that addressed certain goals for a service project he implemented at the start of his senior year.  He has already achieved most of these goals that included organizing A Night to Remember, a fundraising dinner for 2,000 people, The Zoo, A Day to Live, taking young cancer sufferers and their families to the San Francisco Zoo to experience a day of fun and adventure.  Ryan and his team raised more than $11,000 for their program - an amazing success!

Ryan is committed to serving the needs of others and is actively supporting positive change in our community.
