Message from the Chaplain

The Cardinal Newman community is blessed with great students, wonderful faculty, a religious sister and three priests from the Diocese of Santa Rosa. As the chaplain at Cardinal Newman High School, I supervise the religious and spiritual elements of the school as well as the teaching of Theology. Our ultimate goal is the evangelization of the hearts and minds of our local community and also to reach out to other people. We celebrate the Sacraments, especially Eucharist at Mass, prayer, adoration and other forms of prayer from our Catholic tradition. Sacred Liturgy is a valuable part of our Catholic identity.

We welcome all people of good will in all of our activities and walk the journey together in a loving spirit of openness and hopefulness. We are open to God's will and word as He manifests it in our life. In particular, we look to Sacred Scripture, the writings of the Church Fathers and Magisterial documents to guide us on our faith journey. We also recognize Spe Salvi (in hope, we are saved) and we look to Our Lord with hopeful exception as He works His grace in our life and the life of other people.
